Benjamin Shealy Announces Run for Eighth Circuit Solicitor

Taxpayers deserve positive results in exchange for their investment, and Ben Shealy plans to provide a return for your tax dollars.

In 2012, the citizens of the Eighth Judicial Circuit will have the opportunity to elect a new Solicitor and Ben Shealy, as a candidate for Solicitor, is ready to offer the citizens of Abbeville, Laurens, Greenwood and Newberry counties a vision for the future. Ben believes the Circuit Solicitor should focus on building constructive relationships with law enforcement and crime victims, and he vows to use court time both effectively and efficiently.

He will also offer significant transparency by giving all citizens of the Eighth Judicial Circuit unparalleled access to the Solicitor's Office. Ben's Hope is that all of your concerns will be properly and promptly addressed. Most important, Ben believes that each citizen of the Eighth Judicial Circuit should be proud of the Solicitor and his office. The Eighth Judicial Circuit Solicitor should be respected throughout the State of South Carolina.

Ben's prosecutorial experience is extensive. He served the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit as an Assistant Solicitor. In addition, he has served you here in the Eighth Judicial Circuit as an Assistant Solicitor, and then as the Deputy Solicitor for Abbeville County. Currently, Ben is a partner with the law firm of Zimmerman and Shealy, LLC located in Newberry County. Zimmerman and Shealy, LLC specializes in criminal defense and family law.

Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. Immediately upon graduation from USC, he served in the United States Army for four years. In 1995, he earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Norman Wiggins School of Law located at Campbell University.

Ben and his wife, Danielle Daggett Shealy, have been married since 2003. Together they currently have four children.
